Speare,  Richard - With much sadness we announce the pass-ing of Richard Speare at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Monday, December 25, 2003 in his 73 year. 

Dearly loved husband and best friend of Jean (Dennison) Speare for 51 years.  Loving father of Carolyn "Carrie" Fayez and her husband Khaled of Harriston and dear grandpa of Mark and Caleigh Mugford and Jordan, Sarah and Emily Fayez.  Dear brother-in-law of Hazel Dennison, Ruth Lucas, Elmer and Betty Dennison and Bill and Adele Dennison.  He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by three aunts and his uncle Lorne Speare.  He was predeceased by his precious daughter Catherine Speare (2001) and by his parents Ralph and Helen (Weber) Speare

Richard lived in Harriston all of his life and was a member of Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church and the Harriston Masonic Lodge #262.

He was always interested in the seed business and after gain-ing experience at Pritchard's Seeds and Maple Leaf, he started his own company, Speare Seeds, of which he was very proud.

He will be missed by his staff and customers who were also his good friends.  The family received relatives and friends at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home.  Harriston on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held from Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston today (Wednesday December 17th) at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Calvin Lewis officiating.

Pallbearers were Bill McKay,  Ed Seifried,  Mike Mac Dougal,  Len Loughran,  Dwayne Klemp, and Kevin Crispin. Interment Harriston Cemetery.
