William Speare  1815 - 1902

William Speare was the 5th child of Richard Speare & Mary Ward.  William was baptised in Inwardleigh 15th October 1815.

At the time of the 1841 census William was living with wife Anne Holding and 3 children Emanuel, Emma & William in Wilburton Village, Yealmpton, Devon. 10 years later in 1851 the family were still living in Yealmpton, Devon.  Only 2 children were living at home John & Ann.  William was working as a Farm Labourer.

In 1861 William & Ann were still living in Yealmpton.  They were now shown living in Wilburton Village and had 2 children living with them John & Philip.

In 1871 William & Ann were still living at the same place.  They now just had son Philip living with them.

1881 William & Ann remain in the same place now living with their Granddaughter Jessie Holding daughter of John Holding & Ann Speare.

1891 William & Ann are still in Wilburton, Yealmpton, Devon living with granddaughter Jessie Holding.

1901 William is now a widow his wife Ann passed away in 1896.  William is now living with his son Philip & wife Mary.

William dies the following year in 1902.
